About two weeks ago, Obama declared that 8 million people had signed up for his healthcare plan. He believes that these numbers prove his critics wrong, and that the Republicans need to admit that it is working- even though political analysts are unsure of the impact of the ACA. The extent to which this will be successful will be determined by how many healthy young people sign up for it. Obama believes that the number of people that have enrolled far outweighs the number of people who are against it. Regardless, there are many people who are happy with they ACA, and many who are in an uproar about the ACA.
A lot of the controversy surrounding the ACA stems from the inherent ideological differences between Democrats and Republicans. Obama's most famous policy is Obamacare, and he is not going to give up on it without a struggle. I myself am very conflicted about Obamacare. I use to be all for it, because I agreed with the idea of people being able to get affordable healthcare, no matter how wealthy they are. I also thought that this would be able to help my family out with all our medical expenses. My brother is Autistic, and he has VERY expensive medication. Originally, we thought that Obamacare would make them more affordable, but in fact, the cost of his health insurance went up by nearly $300, and he can't go see most of the doctors that we want him to. In reality, Obamacare has only made my family have to pay a lot more, and get even less benefits.
